AFA SG 2014 – Culture Japan

DSC_0293

One of the thing that I would like to see in an exhibition booth is that it will change most of it stuffs each day, and making sure that you will find them to see what they have.

And also a reason to why you need to go to AFA daily like how I did.

Culture Japan booth is one of the reason started back when I come to be aware of Danny Choo, to take a peek at his booth.

DSC_0294

Though most of his stuffs are sold out, including the newly Smart Doll, Mirai and her friends T-shirts, poster and the MoeKanji and MoeKana cards.

The reason why even my Imouto and l like about Mirai is that she is cute, plus my imouto like those pretty mascots a lot.

DSC_0295

Though as sadly as I have to admit on being a NEET and a poor person, I couldn’t afford the Smart Doll at the cost of SGD 700.

Hey!

I did went to Japan, so where did my money come from?…

それは秘密です。

DSC_0296

What changes did the Culture Japan booth have, that differ for each day?

Well, the simple one would be that most of the stuffs are sold out on the first day like the Smart Dolls and a few pretty poster.

I would support to grab the poster myself, but this time around, as I need to save carefully for the Japan Walking Session, I only grab a T-shirt this time.

DSC_0337

As for the booth, the table display of Danny’s daughters change a lot on their poses, making sure that you would like to a few photo shot of them.

And while you’re at it with a bit of luck, you can take photo with Danny himself, and speak to him if you like.

DSC_0340

So far I would like to sit down and chat with him, but he is a very very busy person.

His Comrades are also nice and fun to talk with, including Danny’s wife (whom I ask for a bit of advice on how to counter the winter cold at Japan).

DSC_0495 n2

I could even see that Mr Ninja do take a nice photo himself too.

DSC_0341 n2

(The two lovely Smart Dolls that were on Sale for the first time and in Singapore at the cost of SGD 700… too bad I’m too poor to grab them with my clean hand…)

DSC_0342

DSC_0343

DSC_0346

The Smart Dolls were the one selling like hotcakes, reason being that they are very limited in stocks, plus they are very lovely and cute, and lastly they are a good start for those who want to start collecting dolls.

There are many other reason as to why people bought them, but when my Imouto and I took a look at them, we would love to have them, though the price isn’t right for us at the moment.

Maybe in future we might grab them.

DSC_0348

(Danny Choo don’t always have his free time, but when he appear at his booth, it’s best to speak to him as it fun to chat with him.)

DSC_0350 n2

(Plus he don’t mind a photo session too.)

DSC_0349

(The queue at the CJ Booth is very very long…)

DSC_0353

(And the last person of the queue is responsible to grab hold of this lovely ‘End of queue’ signboard… I would grab this and run away with it you know…)

DSC_0354

It also seem that Mirai and her friends made to be characters in the Million Arthur apps card game.

Not only are they powerful, they got nice status from what I heard… but too bad I not into mobile games at the moment due to overwhelming Playstation / 3DS / PC games on hands.

DSC_0356

As a norm, CJNight tend to always happen on the day after the exhibition on most countries.

It is also a good time and place for comrade to sit down and chat with each other too, though in Singapore; Monday is also the start of working day there are also many who turned up late due to works and a few who couldn’t even make it at all.

Oh well, I will post the CJNight a later timing / date, but take a peek at the CJBooth at AFA SG 2014 for now.. (=w= ||)

Probably, you will notice the changes at that booth during each day just from looking at those pictures too.

DSC_0989

(A few posters got sold out so fast that they are ‘no more liao’… wait a sec… where are they pasting that sign at!?!?)

DSC_0990

Notice a few changes already?

Well, at least I wonder what CJ will be bringing for the upcoming events for 2015.

Surely would be the Smart Dolls will start their invasion, but till then, maybe I need to just wish for a lovely smart doll as a present (=x= ||)

Without further ado, please feast your eyes here for the interview with Aoi Eir and our media friends!

AFA - Eir Aoi

Recently, you have just performed in Moscow, Russia, how does it feel to perform there for the first time, and are there any difficulties encountered in communication?

Aoi Eir: It was the first time I’m performing in Russia. When I first stepped out of the airport, the chilly weather that I felt, reminded me of my birth place, Hokkaiddo. I felt really happy as although it is the first time I’m visiting this country, however it felt like the feeling of returning to Hokkaiddo.
On the day of my live performance, it is actually my birthday as well. After the performance, the attendees sang me a birthday song, which touched me and I even creed a little. Even though the climate in Russia is cold, the people in Russia are really warm. Russia is a very fun place and the experience made me love Russia.

Did you try the local food in Russia? How do you like it?

Aoi Eir: Talking about Russia, one would really need to try borscht. The dish was served with bread, and in the borscht, sour cream was mixed in it. It is really delicious, and I ate too much such that not only my stomach hurts, but my back too! I felt really blessed at that time.

Have you tried paint balls or BB guns before?

Aoi Eir: I have tried air guns before, as my brother has such a hobby in this area. I have held a shot gun before as well. I would definitely like to try survivor games sometime in the future.

Did you fire the shotgun, or just held it?

Aoi Eir: Nope, I didn’t fire it. Most probably if I did fire, I’ll be sent flying backwards by the recoil!

AFA14 - AE01

This is the 2nd time coming to AFASG, what does it feel like to be invited here once again to perform?

Aoi Eir: Last year when I was here in Singapore for the first time, I was really shocked by the amount of fans who are passionate about anime here, despite the difference in our culture. I was really touched at the amount of love that fans are giving to the japanese anime culture.
When I was invited to take part again in this wonderful event, and thinking that I would be able to once again meet this crowd of people, I felt really happy.
Previously in AFA’13, I was only able to perform along with the karaoke set. However, this time around, I’m able to bring my band along with me, and we hope to bring a good time to the fans.

In regards to your work as an artiste, what do you think is the reason that makes the fans love you and your music?

Aoi Eir: There are several reasons in which I sang anime songs. As anime is spreading its influence around the world, it made me feel like anime is a connecting bridge to the other countries. Since young, I have been watching anime, and whenever I listen to the anime songs/themes, it reminds me of my favourite anime scenes. I would therefore like to transmit such feelings that I had to the fans, and that’s what inspired me to keep singing.

AFA14 - AE02

What attributes do you think that differentiates you from the other artistes?

Aoi Eir: I find that I’d display a strong character and at times, can be tomboyish. When my emotions get strong, I would like to display as precise as possible to her fans.

When you found out that it is confirmed you were to sing the theme songs for the anime series, Kill la Kill and Sword Art Online, how do you feel about the decision?

Aoi Eir: For Kill la Kill, its different from the other anime, as it is not adapted from other forms of media. When I thought that I was able to sing the OP for this show, I eagerly look forward for the anime to be aired on TV. Every week when I watch Kill la Kill, I found that the show was very nostalgic, and the story plot has a fast pace, unlike the other shows. To be singing for the OP for the show, I felt very honoured to do so.
For Sword Art Online, I sang for the Fairy Dance arc in the first season, the extra edition and the opening of the second season. To me, the anime, SAO, was becoming very huge. From the start, I enjoyed playing games The protagonist in the anime, is very skilled at them, and I do adore such characters like that. In the series, the plot ties in virtual world with reality, which makes a truly splendid story. As the series goes on, the story keeps captivating me more into the plot. With that, I felt really thankful to be featured in such a wonderful series, and from here on, I would like to sing SAO’s songs, closer to my heart.

After releasing a lot of singles, what’s your favourite song personally?

Aoi Eir: No matter which work, nor song, I love all of them equally. If asked to make a choice, I would never be able to make a decision for it, as I put in all my feelings into singing them.

Could you share with us more on your song, ‘Genesis’, the ending theme for Aldnoah Zero Second Season?

Aoi Eir: My single, Genesis, will be released on February 18th, in Japan. It’s been quite a while since I can have the experience of singing the ending theme song for an anime. Truth be told, its been since ‘Memoria’, my debut single for the anime Fate/Zero. This is the first time I’m challenging to sing a medium ballad type of song, so I hope everyone will look forward to listening to it.

AFA14 - AE03

Can you briefly share with us your 2015 plans? Where there be any more solo concerts in the near future?

Aoi Eir: Currently, there are no concrete plans for 2015, but I do hope that I would be able to do an Asia tour soon. The band that I had brought along for AFA this year, was not my full band.  I will put in most best effort, so I would be able to bring my full band along around Asia for the tour.

How do you foresee the future of the Japanese music and anime industries?

Aoi Eir: Ahhh. This is a tough question, I can’t really foresee on what will happen.

How does you see yourself in the future, in regards to your music.

Aoi Eir: The theme for the songs that I have been singing is ‘No matter how dark it gets, one should continue searching for the light.’ From now on, I would like to write my songs based on this theme. I was able to write the lyrics for my newest single, Tsunagaru Omoi, and in the future, I would like to aspire to be able to write and compose a song myself.

Is there any favourite composer you like to work with?

Aoi Eir: For me, I really do like Do As Infinity. I admire Dai Nagao quite a lot, and would be honoured if he would be able to write lyrics for my songs.

What is your turning point or highlights in your singing career?

Aoi Eir: As I progress through my career, I feel that I become more ambitious. When I first debuted in the industry, I frequently cover my mouth when I sing. That was during the time I do not have any experience in performing live shows. After I have done live performances, I yearn to do more live performances, not just only in Japan, but around the world as well.

AE-Innocence

There’s no doubt that your most popular song is ‘Innocence’ from SAO, which achieved the rank of No. 6 on the Oricon chart. How do you feel about this accomplishment?

Aoi Eir: ‘Innocence’ was the opening theme song for the Fairy Dance arc of SAO. This song managed to achieve its success on the Oricon chart, due to the fans who watched the anime, and I feel extremely happy about the achievement. Now that this arc is over, I would like express such feelings through the performance of this song in my live performances.

Well, that’s all for this round. Will be back for the next post for upcoming music releases, and more interviews.

Signing off,  Yuuki~

Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2014 Booths – Gundam (Bandai)

AFA SG Gundam 1

Gundam is one of the hit in Singapore among it local fans, and even I got a few Gunpla in my hiding spot.

Though a few series like Gundam Wing and Gundam Seed are my favorite, many other Gundam model just look so much cooler that I had to stop my temptation to grab them with my clean hands.

As Gundam show tribute of it 35th Anniversary at Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2014, let take a few look at the booth expedition.

AFA SG Gundam 2

From old Fans to new in-comers, Gundam has been gathering many Gundam / Gunpla lovers from all over the world, with positive result and well-loved by many of all ages.

It would nice to include Gundam as a lesson in this planet Earth, with many young children now can also come to love Gundam.

Even now Gunpla are easy to make by younger age child.

AFA SG Gundam 3

Though I come to love Gundam first and Gunpla at a later time, the amazing thing about Gundam is that each series their main characters Gundam model look so cool and powerful; that their franchise Gunpla are a good seller.

The steps to build is hard for newcomers, but the experience and process of making the Gunpla is irreplaceable with the end result is the product of your hard work.

AFA SG Gundam 4

The Gundam Anime keep on coming with many different series, stories and plots, the one thing that you can’t deny is that they are involve of Gundam.

And with each passing series, new and powerful Gundam will have it plastic model kit Gunpla ready to interest the Gundam Fans.

Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2014 Day 1/2/3 – Cosplayers

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 1

Ok.. I’m sure many would like to take a peek into nice cosplayers during my walking session at AFA SG 2014, and to be honest, I did delayed it since I got a hard time choosing the best out of them.

Even I do need to use photoshop to brighten them up or they will be too dark to look into; even when I was using my D7000 Nikon DSLR Camera.

This time I will not be commenting much about them, but let take a look at those handsome and pretty cosplayers that I come across during the walking session.

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 2

(There were many who like Idol anime characters from Love Live and other, and it seem that they are a popular choice among girls.)

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 3

(I wonder if I can go on the same course as her…)

Of course there are a few cosplayers who cosplaying for company’s mascots. They look very lovely, and while many of them are pretty girls, there are cute mascots too.

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 4

(Don’t be surprise to see this is a Vocaloid character called Mayu, I had went to Japan to learn about Exit Tunes and they are very popular, will be covering them in due times.)

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 5

(Mako-chan of Toycoin is also around)

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 6

(I wonder if she doing to sing a song too…)

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 7

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 8

(Ok.. I had history of Depression and I don’t mind getting her number to know about Despair… She just too cute…)

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 9

(In case you want to confirm her wig was pink… before photoshop) (>w< ||)

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 10

(Wait a … Am I seeing double!?)

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 11

(To be honest, I was a bit shocked as I mistook him as a statue at the Garo Booth)

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 12

(I love a cute Mascot, and I do want to cuddle them up..)

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 13

(But it just too shy for it.. and I need to coax it for a photo too..)

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 14

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 15

(Hmm… I wonder what this blue raccoon mascot is..  but it’s sure is cute..)

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 16

(Domo!! I taken a photo with it, and it just too cute not to take a photo with.)

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 17

(Hmm… I didn’t know Nissin got their own mascot… that come with a dangerous and huge fork…)

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 18

(Be very afraid… not because he’s the biggest titan… but his face look … weirdly scary…)

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 19

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 20

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 21

(Even cosplayers can sing…)

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 22

(… Or enjoying them as the audience)

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 23

(I wonder prefer someone to cosplay as an idol and sing though..) (>w< |||)

There are many individual cosplayers who wander around at AFA SG 2014, so it isn’t hard to notice them; problem will be asking them for a photo shot..

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 24

(I wonder if Shiroe is checking out AFA SG)

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 25

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 26

(Please don’t cry.. it just a photo-taking..)

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 27

(Er… I will just take a photo.. please don’t look so scary and as if you’re ready to kill…)

Well there are individual cosplayers posing for camera, many come as a group and they sure look cool together.

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 28

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 29

(A whole group of cosplayers sure look good when they are posing together)

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 30

(Hmm… I wonder if they’re blocking the pathway with their flag and say ‘You should not pass’ ; or they are just posing nicely)

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 31

(This duo caught my attention; prove that cosplayers need to strong physically too in order to do many nice poses)

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 32

(Or you can just sit on the floor and be done with it..)

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 33

(I lovely this duo or Rin and Len pose)

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 34

(But I wonder if someone at the back is cosplaying as Sadako Yamamura unintentionally.. or she is Sadako herself…)

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 35

There are many pretty cosplayers at AFA SG 2014, too bad it was too crowd to take nice photos of them..

But either way, just a few more to go.

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 36

(Hmm.. I not sure who’s this character, anyone care to enlighten me, and she look pretty too.)

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 37

(Hmm… if only that white pillar is gone, it would be a nice photo..)

AFA SG 2014 Cosplayer 38

(Too many pretty cosplayer to look at… I think I need to clean my eye again after this..)

Well.. there is the last of the photos that I’m happy to share with. There are a few more too, but my apologize as a few of them aren’t that good with reasons like too blur or I didn’t take a good shot of them.

Hopefully this year I will be taking photos of cosplayers, but till then, I will finish up many posts that I due since last Dec…

Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2014 Day 1/2/3 – Signage

AFA SG 2014 Signage 0
(Nope, not that type of signing..)

Signage is very important on the road, acting as direction for people to get to their destination, or warning to inform other of danger.

While those are known as road sign or warning sign, we can’t deny the fact that not much people seem to be bother with those all-so-important signage that appeared down at AFA SG 2014.

And here I will be showing a few interesting signs and boards that play a big part.

But before we go about presenting of photo of events happening at AFA SG 2014, I’m sure many are aware that there are times when it’s ‘OK’ to take photo, and times when they’re not.

AFA SG 2014 Signage 1
(Photo ‘OK’ to be taken!)

No Photo basically mean that you’re not allow to take photos, but many have been use to whether it’s okay to take a photo; that you can / allow taking photo.

It’s basically short and easy to understand that even when I’m in Japan and asking a few people in Japan whether it’s fine to take photo of them; instead of “May I take a photo of you?”, I would simply just ask “Photo, Ok des?”

AFA SG 2014 Signage 2
(Yes.. I know it’s very sad that there are some events which you’re not allow to take a photo)

I’m not acting cute to end with the des, but even I not sure why I would end with that; probably I following Anime / Manga example too much.

But in anyway, it’s always polite to ask if photos are permitted to be taken first. But if there is a ‘No Photo’ sign, just kindly don’t take any photo.

Well, I’m sure those signboards would love to be seen by many passers-by.

AFA SG 2014 Signage 3
(Instead of displaying their booth name, a few booths display what they had in sale / stock)

Well many booths have names on them, a few booths like Star Child made good use of them to display what they are selling, and displaying of their events.

It’s really easy to see what are on sale at their booth, with the sample picture and their prices.

A few other booths did the same ways like Culture Japan, Volks and other more.

Really a good way to let passers-by to know what is still in stock.

AFA SG 2014 Signage 4
(Good Smile Company Expression Challenge was a hit with many people wishing to draw a nice face expression on their Nendoroid face, all for a dollar!)

Those are a good use of displaying their goods / stocks, and giving passers-by at the events the information they required.

Normally a shop signage would display their booth name, to let one know the shop / booth he or she is visiting.

However it’s also common to see many being display as normal signboard with information or instruction on what their booths are instead of the names.

AFA SG 2014 Signage 5
(This signboard was pass to the last person of the line at Culture Japan; this guy waiting for the next ‘last’ person to pass that to him/her)

Another common signboard that appeared at AFA SG 2014 is the “End of Line / Queue” sign board.

These signboards are very useful when the queue start to get longer especially when someone wishes to join the queue.

Though it’s common in Singapore for people to join the queue without knowing what the line is for, but the “End of Line” sign also show what the queue is for.

AFA SG 2014 Signage 6
(A very simple sign to let passers-by know what the queuing line is for, as well as knowing where is the end of the queue)

So when one join the queue at the end; they would know which is the queue they required to line up, or knowing what is the line they queuing for.

To be honest, there were many many different type of queue at the events, so it really kind of a problem to navigate around the place, since it really easy to get lost.

Even the crowds aren’t helping (>w< ||)

AFA SG 2014 Signage 7
(When they do not have enough manpower to ask for help, Asuna is up to help)

Another interesting thing that I come across is how those sign give the type of information that you’re looking for; example is like when you do not understand why Aniplex was temporary closed during the AFA event.

Well, while Mr. ‘Kirito’ is busy having his autograph for his fans, his wife, Asuna, is outside helping to keep order on the crowd.

I’m more preferred to get her autograph myself though. (=w= |||)

AFA SG 2014 Signage 8
(Little Miku is also assisting at the Aniplex booth; I really wonder how they able get her help too…)

Another funny thing that tend to happen (including myself) is that when queuing up to enter a few booth like Aniplex where there is an entrance and exit; the exit become the entrance.

It might be that many wish to cut the queue, or some just aren’t sure where the entrance are, the sign board that show where is the entrance and exit, do help a lot.

At least, passers-by are aware where they’re heading.

AFA SG 2014 Signage 9
(Rin and Archer are ready to take any Masters and Servants, but at the moment they are also ready to pose for photo-taking)

The common thing that many people tend to take note is how cute, cool and nice all those figurines and model kits at AFA are.

The displaying of figurines is common that many photographers tend to take photo of them.

But what many didn’t seem to take note is the ‘name card’ to show what is the figurines’ name, or what series it from.

AFA SG 2014 Signage 10
(Is it just me, or do those Gundam seem to look real enough to move?)

I know there many who wish to take photo of those figurines / model kits alone without their name, but those name cards is to indicate them so that new fans can learn about them.

There are many new otaku in the world, and funny thing is that they do not know much about a few anime, as they tend to watch their favorite one.

Me?

Of course I do watch my favorites too, but I do watch most other to see their story, plot and art.

AFA SG 2014 Signage 11
(Many of my favourite Nendoroid and figurines are sold out… (TAT ||) )

While most of the figurines and model kits on display are also sold on booths nearby, many of them are pretty much sold out earlier as they are at a lower price than most store in Singapore.

The Miku Nendoroid series are pretty much cheaper and cute, which is why they sold out fast.

And they do have the sold out sign to indicate that.

Those ‘Sold Out’ can be seen in most booths like Volks, Good Smile, and even Culture Japan; well at least you get to know which items was the fast selling one.

AFA SG 2014 Signage 12
(Displaying of information of arts are pretty common signage too; like who did the art, the size of the art and where to purchase them)

Which is why first day of AFA, many tend to always be in a rush for people to buy stuffs as soon as they possibly can.

Also another thing to note is that most of the stuffs are mostly pre-order at AFA, but those aren’t really exclusive item; just that you get to see what or how the item will be like when you going purchase it.

The information on the sign is clearly stated on the side of the art, so interested fans will get to know where to purchase them; a pretty nice way of advertising while displaying those nice arts.

AFA SG 2014 Signage 13
(The information on the board are detailed and easy to read; but I wonder how many take their time to read them…)

When it comes to information, as I mentioned not many Otakus are aware of anime series or sequel.

Take Gundam for example; there are many different series and sequel, and while many would like the newer version, they might not be sure about the origin.

So those information on the board are pretty important to tell the fans and new Otakus about the series they.

Plus even if they are new to the new series, they can learn about them and possibly like it too.

AFA SG 2014 Signage 14
(There was a moment of taking a photo with Domo, and the funny thing was that I wasn’t sure how long the session was – 11 am to not sure when)

That including letting people knowing what event is happening at the booths too.

A few sign boards of information do help a lot for me during the walking session, like when I can take a photo with Domo, or when is the autograph of a few artistes.

But frankly speaking, many people tend not to take much notice of those lovely sign other than walking pass, or just stare at them for a while and forget about them the next moment.

AFA SG 2014 Signage 15
(Ok… maybe a Signage need some Signing of Autograph by Artistes here…)

But that doesn’t mean that there is no one taking photo of them.

A few signage that were taken photo of are probably a few nice display of Artiste or Anime with information on them; which tend to be more like posters.

I’m sure many people would like to tear those lovely pictures and bring it back home; that would be very priceless.

Problem would be where they will be displaying them at home; even I don’t have much spare at my hiding spot myself.

AFA SG 2014 Signage 16
(Many might like the AFA display showing at Suntec City big screen, but do you know that is known as Digital Signage?)

But what I might try to display a few would be a Ditial Signage, like using my phone or even the monitor screen.

Problem about using them is electricity bills will go up high, but when showing nice animation or photos, why not?

The only notable digital signage is the one that AFA is advertising at the Suntec City big screen – well, that is a lot of screen to be such a big Signage Screen.. (OAO !!!)

AFA SG 2014 Signage 17
(Knowing where is the Exit do help, but I need to know where is the entrance…)

If there aren’t any signage at the events, it would easy to get lost, or not knowing what are the in and out at the event; just prove that they are very common, and very useful.

There are just so many different Signs to look out at AFA SG 2014; I wondered what kind of signage I will get to see this year 2015 though..

Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2014 Day 1/2/3 – Food and Beverage

AFA SG 2014 F&B 2

(There are so many various of Nissin Cup Noodles, I only prefer the creamy chicken)

Having eaten many tasty foods in Japan, I still remember the moment of tasty food at AFA SG 2014 where I eaten 3 days straight of cup noodles…

Please don’t take that as a pity where I can only managed to eat cup noodles, but it turned out that Nissin was having a booth with their lovely mascot going around to advertise too.

I still remember the funny and amazing moment when I was looking at their soccer advertise video when one Samurai showing many people off his skills and until the end did it show it was advertising for Nissin when there no sight of any cup noodles…

AFA SG 2014 F&B 1

(Not sure they’re queuing to get one cup each, or just watching the interesting video of a samurai showing off his football skills)

This time they show (repeatedly non-stop) a short video about the same Samurai taking on football skills showdown with 3 Ninja.

Well.. I can only mentioned that many was so awe with their skills that there are time when I noticed many people take their time to watch the video, and making me wonder if they are queuing up to get a cup noodles themselves or just simply watching the interesting video.

AFA SG 2014 F&B 3

I personally prefer Mr. Nissin Mascot standing guard at their booth with his dangerous (and did I mentioned big?) fork and ensuring the queuing order.

The funny thing I noticed (by chance when I went pass the back of the Nissin booth) was that due to the demand of the Nissin cup noodles, the staffs are wasting no time to boil as much water as possible.

AFA SG 2014 F&B 4

(Hmm… so 3 packet of cup noodles got discount ar?)

Well, considering the it SGD 2 for one cup, the least was that it’s cheaper than any meal, plus many people doesn’t want to get out of the hall just to find food (and maybe at higher price)

That is also my reason as to why I ate 3 days straight of Nissin cup noodles, and thanks to that, I forced myself to eat other stuffs other than noodles since I got addicted to it easily.

But is Nissin the only food that selling at AFA SG 2014?

Nope, it’s just that not many want to waste more money on food since they can use their money to grab hold of other nice anime merchandises.

AFA SG 2014 F&B 5

(Seriously.. I was really shocked and amazed that the arrow was pointing to the sign when I took this photo)

As previously AFA have introduce their new mascot character, Seika, they also have a nice booth named after her; Seika Cafe.

Selling some tasty (and very small serving of) foods, there are of course many who prefer the cheaper Nissin cup noodles, but that doesn’t mean there are no one purchasing those expensive food.

Ok, ok..

SGD 8 for one curry rice that doesn’t fill my stomach is bit of crazy, which I can just buy 4 Nissin cup noodles at the same price.

AFA SG 2014 F&B 6

(Ya… I know they’re expensive… but they do look very appetizing)

For those who don’t like to eat instant noodles, they can go to the food courts or restaurants at Suntec City to eat.

But despite the price, there are few who purchase those tasty foods to try out or just simply to eat.

I got no idea how tasty they are, since I prefer to spend my money on getting other stuffs, but they do kind of look nice and tasty.

AFA SG 2014 F&B 7

My honest opinion would be just buy one cheap up-sized Mchicken meal at the nearby McDonald if possible, at the very least that is fulfilling.

Or I can just bring along a Bento ~!

As for drink, I did notice there is also a small booth selling very expensive and precious mineral water.

So far I bring my own water bottle to AFA SG 2014 for all days, and when I run out of water, just head down to the supermarket ‘Giant’ and get one cheap and big bottle of Pokka green tea for the nearly same price.

AFA SG 2014 F&B 8

(Water are very precious… so they are very expensive…)

Well, if you’re too thirsty to move and so happen to be the mineral water booth, just sacrifice that money and drink that precious water then just suffering the thirst…

That’s the reason why I mentioned that mineral water are expensive and yet very precious; at least you may (or not) remember to try bring or buy your own next time.

Food and Beverage is our daily necessity where we would normally eat 1-3 meals daily. And good thing is that they did have a corner where food and drink are selling and serve; at the very least many people at AFA SG 2014 are sitting down and enjoying their tasty meals.

AFA 2014 Interview – Kitamura Eri (KITAERI)

Its being a long time, since I made a post here. Unfortunately, I did not have time to post my monthly releases for music this month as I went on an overseas trip to Japan. I will start posting the February releases soon, before the start of Feb. ^_^”

For now, as you guys probably heard or something, we had acquired a media pass for AFA 2014. Due to my working schedules, I can hardly find time to write for the interviews that we had done in AFA 2014 with fellow media friends. Well, I personally went through the whole interview recording, and translate it from scratch as well, so it took some more time needed. Haha.

Well, this is one of the interview that I was suppose to post last week, but took some time to tie up the backend part.

I will thus work on going through the rest of the interviews that I have on my hands, namely LiSA, Aoi Eir, GARNiDELiA and fripSide. Hope to finish them soon!

So hereby, I shall present you the interview with Kitamura Eri-san! K.I.T.A.E.R.I. yay!

Screen Shot 2015-01-18 at 8.32.34 pm

(NoteQuestions asked are from the media as a group, not just ReV-AMF)

Kitamura-san, is this your first time in Singapore? Have you gotten used to it?

KitaEri: This is the first time that I came to Singapore. After arriving in Singapore, I was constantly involved in stage rehearsals, and thus brings about a tight schedule.

Therefore I could not do much sightseeing. I still do not quite know about Singapore’s ambience. Speaking of whether I am used to it, I would say no, but I have gotten a first feel of things.

Kitamuura-san, You say you are a huge fan of anime. Which are your favourite series?

KitaEri: I really like a lot of anime, and thus I can’t choose. It is quite hard for me to rank them. In terms of genres, I like fantasy, horror, even violence. For anime, I would look at the genre, the characters and the stories.

As my preference for them does change, it would thus be hard for me to rank them. In short, I like different types of anime.

Of all the characters that you had done voice acting for, which do you think represents yourself the most?

KitaEri: For appearance-wise…, none at all. The characters that I had voiced are mostly cute, beautiful or cool. As I am acting to be like them, it would be difficult to gauge, thus I can’t choose.

Eri Kitamura Profile photo

(Profile Photo from Star Child site)

You are both a seiyuu and an artiste (singer), which profession do you like more?

KitaEri: I can’t choose either of them, as I like both of them. As a seiyuu, I can act in a character that differs from mine and I can enjoy the story of the anime.

As an artiste, I can do and challenge the things I like, such as performing and singing, and that is fun to me. The enjoyment for both professions is different and that is why I am unable to choose which one I like more.

Why do you want to be a seiyuu or singer?

KitaEri: Ever since when I was a child, I like anime, games and manga. My mom likes the profession of a seiyuu. When I was young, I already knew quite well about this profession.

And thus, I’m keen to join the industry in which captivated me with the anime, games and manga that I like when I was young, and being able to do creative things in this line.

kos scene

(Anime – Knights of Sidonia)

When watching Knights of Sidonia, what is the thing you like best about it, and what leaves you with the deepest impression.

KitaEri: There are a lot of parts. In general, I quite like robots and sci-fi animation. In this series, the activation scenes and the scene in which the hero launches in the Tsugumori, are done in a stunningly beautiful manner and looks really cool.

I also performed the ending theme, titled Show , for this anime. I wrote the lyrics and made the song, based on my imagination of this anime. Also the scenes in Knights of Sidonia left a deep impression on me, and therefore I like it.

Kitamura-san has recently just launched her own fashion line, Ghost Chest. What are some of the challenges faced?

KitaEri: When I am performing as an artiste, there are situations during my live performances, where I felt like to wearing some type of costumes, in which designs are not readily available in the markets.

And that is where my dream of creating and designing out my own costumes came about. The gothic style that I like, and will thus imagine that it would be nice to be wearing it during my work or as casual.

Based on this image, I’ll design the clothes and that is what Ghost Chest is.

Ghost + Chest

Kitamura-san, you are quite good at sketches and drawings, is there any sketches that you are proud of?

KitaEri: None. Its more like a hobby and interest. There are more talented people around, such as the mangaka-senseis that I like.

Even among the seiyuus, there are many who drew better illustrations than me.

It stimulates me in the way I think my drawings aren’t quite there yet. I don’t think I have any drawings or sketches that are well drawn.

As a seiyuu, you had voiced both male and female characters. Is there any difference in voicing them?

KitaEri: It’s hard to explain. When I’m acting out the roles of both male and female characters, even when voicing out the same line, the loudness, the pitch and other aspects are different.

During my visits to the family restaurants and cafes, I will do human observations. Like “Ah, so that’s how males shout, gets angry, etc.”, “Oh, that’s how girls laugh”.

From there, I will think of how the difference between both genders, and incorporate into my voice acting.

Kitamura-san, do you have any favourite actor or seiyuu?

KitaEri: Though I can’t choose.. (Media: Again?) Yes, again. ~Laughters in the room~. I can’t decide on who ranks first, as voices differs between everyone. It’s the same as acting.

For example, in the series, Cross Ange, in which I’m working with Mizuki Nana-san, I think that her voice is incredibly powerful. Even with a similar powerful voice, male seiyuus, will exhibit a different tone and coolness.

There’s quite a lot of seiyuus, which I hope I can learn from and incorporate their techniques into my voice acting, and thus I could not choose. (in regards to the question)

cross ange

(AnimeCross Ange | Nana Mizuki voiced for Ange while Eri Kitamura voiced for Salia)

How do you usually prepare for your concerts?

KitaEri: In all, I will first listen to my songs numerous times. I’ll use the mirror in my house and do a mock rehearsal. I’ll also imagine meeting everyone, speaking to them, holding the mike and doing the live performance.

Through imaginations… I’ll do some rehearsals… and come the actual event… I’ll forget everything! It will become something totally different from what I rehearse.

But in short, I’ll listen to my own songs in the setlist before the day of the performance.

Based on your previous answer, would you say that you are a good improviser?

KitaEri: The reactions that I had imagined during the day before my performance and the actual live performance, as expected differs greatly.

As it is something that I can experience only at that time, I would really like to show to the crowd how I really felt then. When I want to express how I really feel, in a blink of an eye, it’s already time for the ending song. When I think about it, I’m unsure if improvisation is one of my abilities.

In comparison, I feel more that the crowd is pulling me into the mood of the performance, rather than the other way around, since I think that everyone is also quite good at improvisation too. ~laughs~

Do you have any artiste or singer that you like to collaborate with?

KitaEri: The music genres that I like are Metal and Rock. As an seiyuu, the characters that I voiced are those with cute voices, those with high keys… But when I’m singing, my key is actually quite low. It might possibly be that a male’s key is more comfortable for my singing.

Of course, I have quite a few female artistes that I like. But I do not have the confidence to sing their types of key. Therefore I have no such person that I would like to collaborate with.

Eri Kitamura @ AFA SG 2014

Since you like the Metal genre, do you have any favourite metal genre bands?

KitaEri: Though I can’t choose whose the first on my list… ~Laughs~. I do listen to several Metal genre bands with female vocals frequently. Of which I liked Nightwish, Delain and Arch Enemy.

I do listen to both major and minor artistes of the genre. Those that I listen to most frequently are an artiste named Ann-san and Within Temptation. For the rest…. it’s top secret.

Kitamura-san, What are your thoughts on Singapore?

KitaEri: For Singapore, what I’m most interested to know would be, ‘Among the works that I have done, which character from which work that is most popular here.’

As this is the first time I’m in Singapore to meet with fans of I Love Anisong, and thought ‘What if I can meet with those who knew KitaEri’. As it is before my live performance, I’m quite interested to find out how do they feel about me. This is what makes me curious the most this time.

I’m thinking it would be really good if I can get people to be interested about. ~laughs~

Is there any advise you want to give to people who wants to be an actor and seiyuu?

KitaEri: I would also like some!~ ~laughs~ This is quite difficult as it depends on timing, chance and opportunity. Although equipped with skills and talent, it would mostly depend on fate.

For me, I feel that I have stumbled upon a chance, and feels that it is a fateful encounter. It is quite tough to explain, so in all, please work hard and do your best!

I’ll also work hard not to disappear. ~Laughters~

-End of Interview-

Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2014 Day 1/2/3 – Try-out / Hang-on / Experience-it (T.H.E.)

AFA SG 2014 - THE 1

When I mentioned about “Crowd and Queue” down at Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2014, most of them didn’t went to buy limited stocks of Anime products but aim to enjoy themselves with a few nice stuffs, that is showcased there.

And here, I will be talking and discussing on what most of those stuffs are,

AFA SG 2014 - THE 2

One of the interesting stuff to try out, is the Oculus Rift where you can experience what the Experience would feel like when you’re wearing the nerve gear equipment from Sword Art Online.

The only thing is that they are playing the same video clip in which you will encounter Asuna fighting a floor boss. In cases when you are hit by the floor boss, Asuna will then somehow be able KO that boss and come over to you after that after that.

While it is just a short video clip, you could somehow really feel how it will be to wear the nerve gear, and another good thing; at least this won’t be able to fry your brain in cases that your character dies in the video somehow.

AFA SG 2014 - THE 3

Another nice exhibition to try out are the training tools from Attack on Titan.

People can get to learn how the characters in Attack on Titan attend their flying training, and for the moment, their feet are floating above the ground, to simulate flight.

AFA SG 2014 - THE 4

There is nothing to worry since there are people to help get ready for the training and guide you along.

So far, I have been wondering how long do one need to train in order to move like how those high flyer in the Attack on Titan did.

AFA SG 2014 - THE 5

Well most of the booths do offer some interesting aspects, such as providing an interface to draw on, or maybe something nice to improve your art skills with.

Wacom introduced a nice tablet which also serve as a screen to draw unlike its previous normal Wacom tablet models.

Well the price isn’t inexpensive though, and the usage and experience gain during drawing of each isn’t easily replaceable.

AFA SG 2014 - THE 6

If you wish to go back to low tech version, there are of course paper and markers to draw on.

AFA SG 2014 - THE 37

… As well as a few graffiti walls which meant to be drawn on over at Nico Nico area.

AFA SG 2014 - THE 38

The amazing thing about those special walls…?

… 3 days later and many would have leave their marks on them… (0A0 !!)

AFA SG 2014 - THE 7

And it would seem that Good Smile Company isn’t losing out on drawing aspect… which they did the art… on a Nendoroid Face.

AFA SG 2014 - THE 8

The interesting thing is that for only SGD$1, you get a chance to have a blank Nendoroid Face drawn by you yourself, and give it a new face, and expression.

Over numerous times, I had walked past this booth to witness how each Nendoroid Face Artist are taking their time to focus on the expression for the face they would like to draw. Sure enough the crowd on the table never fail to amaze me.

AFA SG 2014 - THE 9

Hmm… I wonder if Good Smile Company is looking for someone to draw a few nice Face Expression for them…

I wish I could be able to attract them with mine though (=w= ||)

AFA SG 2014 - THE 10

A few booths of course give all the Walkers, Peekers, or Passer-bys (WPP) to ‘try it’ on their stuffs too.

An example would be the Gloczus, Inc. where they let all the WPPs to touch their phones and tablets, in order to try out the nice apps they are introducing; Hakuoki.

In the case you’re not aware of who Gloczus, Inc. are, it is a mobile application publisher in Japan.

AFA SG 2014 - THE 11

With the handsome male characters (ikeman) in the apps, it could be say that they are going to attract a few Fan girls to their circle.

Frankly speaking… all their characters really look very attractive… (♥ω♥*)

AFA SG 2014 - THE 12

Of course Sony PlayStation isn’t going to lose out on that aspect.

As previously mentioned in the sneak peek, the PlayStation is celebrating their 20th Anniversary, and thus of course they are letting many WPPs try out a few nice PS games; including the Retro classic games like old 2D street fighers.

AFA SG 2014 - THE 13

And they do give the WPPs to try out the new PS Vita and PS4 games like Gundam Breaker 2, Hatsune Miku Project Diva F 2nd, BlazBlue and many more.

AFA SG 2014 - THE 14

Even I’m so tempt to touch those lovely controller myself,  even though I got a PS3 and PS Vita myself, my Imouto and I still discussing on getting the PS4.

Yes..

In my family, before getting something, there’s always a meeting and discussion and more debating… (actually is thinking up excuses to convince my Emperor Dad… )

AFA SG 2014 - THE 15

Cherry Credits isn’t going to lose out themselves as they introduce Puzzle Coin App Game for mobile users.

AFA SG 2014 - THE 16

There are technically more mobile users than PS Console users, and as this is a puzzle game, therefore from that alone, it would win the most vote here at Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2014.

The game itself is simple and fun to play and even I got tempted to try out the game myself; that is until you realize that you have to use real currency to play (=x= ||)

AFA SG 2014 - THE 17

What make Trading Card Game (TGC) so nostalgic to me?

Back when there no such thing as Smart Phones, and the only console game was Nintendo GameBoy, the best game trending then was known as the TCG.

AFA SG 2014 - THE 18

I got a total shock when Konami decided to introduce Yu-gi-oh back at the event; Yes, I was totally into Yu-gi-oh back in the days… (I’m still young, ok?)

AFA SG 2014 - THE 19

Well, the booth do offered WPPs to grab hold of a new cards deck, they also offered new players to learn how to play Yu-gi-oh too.

Another shocker to me was how much Yu-gi-oh had changed over the years, but at least it’s good to know that there are still yu-gi-oh TCG players around (=w= ||)

AFA SG 2014 - THE 20

Another TCG that is making its mark, is the Force of Will,  and it did manage to activate my Sparkly Eyes (+w+ !!)

Most probably is due to the cards design which look pretty awesome and cool too.

AFA SG 2014 - THE 21

The booth do offer Tables and Chairs (but no Ladder / Stairs) for players to challenge each other to a duel.

Hmm.. Maybe a few Yu-gi-oh characters from across the booth can try out this TCG too while they’re on it.

AFA SG 2014 - THE 22

Bushiroad have started a championship match at Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2014, and I was amazed at the turnout of people who participate.

AFA SG 2014 - THE 23

Each time I walk by the booth, I kept wondering to myself if the match was so heated up and cause the booth area to be so hot, or was it the crowds of WPPs watching the duel between each players.

Overall, this is possibly one good championship match.

AFA SG 2014 - THE 25

Another interesting thing to note is that by purchasing SGD$50 worth of Bushiroad Merchandise at their booth, you will be entitled a lucky chance at the Lottery Machine, or the Japan Lucky Wheel (=w= ||)

I wonder if many prefer the autograph redemption since it pretty much gone by far.

AFA SG 2014 - THE 24

Takara Tomy’s WIXOSS is also leaving their mark at this event since I pretty much like the Anime myself too.

But to be able to try out playing those lovely Bishoujo card in real life, sure is like a dream come true for many, since the tables there are pretty much packed.

AFA SG 2014 - THE 26

Collateral Damage Studios (C.D.S) is also getting their own TCG – “Pets x Love” ready too.

Compare to most, this game is fairly easy to play too, considering that it making use of the Rock-Paper-Scissor concept for the game.

The good thing of playing their TCG?

At the end of the 3 days at AFA, the top winner will get a Neko / Inu lovely Dakimakura home, and on top of that, they are Hugging-Ready. too.

AFA SG 2014 - THE 26

Want to experience what its like to be starring in the Anime?

Canon offered a few nice well-known Anime background for many WPPs and Cosplayers to take their lovely photos with it.

AFA SG 2014 - THE 27

There are many different themes available, so one can take their time to choose which background suit them, or to take one in all of them.

There’s also a free photo printing at the booths, so many can head over to them to print out their lovely photos too.

AFA SG 2014 - THE 29

It would seem that I almost miss out on their Canon Theatre booth where you are able to peek at a nice movie of concert, and I do pretty much want to name that my new Hiding Spot.

It’s nice, comfy and dark.. (‘∀’●)♡

AFA SG 2014 - THE 30

There are mascots appearing around the place, and a few which are stationed at their own booths.

And they do give many chances for WPPs to take photo with them. (So far I have taken one with him myself)

AFA SG 2014 - THE 31

There is even one mascot from Animax taking photo with Anime characters that are on display! Σ(ಠิωಠิ|||)

AFA SG 2014 - THE 32

Stage Events also give many people more chances to learn a few nice dance moves, as well as enjoying themselves. For Nico Nico area, there are occasional stage events that conduct mini live stages as well.

AFA SG 2014 - THE 34

And thus when their favorite Guest Artiste appeared in front of them, you can guess how many of them went wild and stretching their hands in hope of grabbing on to the Artiste.

AFA SG 2014 - THE 35

A few will take out their phones and camera to take a few nice shot of them for memories sake, or to tweet / share them on social media. (=w= ||)

AFA SG 2014 - THE 33

Need more interaction?

Well, autograph session is also a moment for fans to have handshakes with their favorite artiste as well as having them sign on their stuffs.

I wondered how many hands hasn’t been washed since Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2014.

AFA SG 2014 - THE 36

There are also cases where you can interact, or even have a short conversation with the guests at Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2014.

Like what I previously tweet.. Danny choo don’t always appear at his booth area, so one would need to catch him and hold him very very VERY tightly (=w= ||)

Overall, the AFA SG 2014 events sure give its ticket a worthwhile experience, even though the price is just a bit on the pricey side compared to previous years…

Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2014 Day 1/2/3 – Crowd and Queue

AFA SG 2014 - C&Q 1

Know what helps to make Anime Festival Asia Singapore one of the most successful event of all time?

It’s the crowd that ‘appeared’ for the events which got me pondering non-stop ,on just where and when did they all come from.

Let’s not count the traffic on the 3rd level, where many people would gather around the Ticket counter in order to grab hold of their entrance ticket just to step into the large halls on the 4th level.

AFA SG 2014 - C&Q 2

Even though I’ve already expected it, I’m still pretty shocked at the amazing turnout for Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2014. (Even when I came down and arrived at 8 on the first day’s morning,  to take a few nice photos of the event.)

Many people had already started queuing up early in the morning, hoping to rush into the exhibition hall and grab a few nice Anime stuffs with their ‘clean hands’.

AFA SG 2014 - C&Q 3

From what I have known, a few early folks took the first train, bus or even drive down here just to get in the queue early, however there are also a few who even tried to camp overnight in order to be first in the line.

Well, I did know of someone who did that on Day 0.5 though.

AFA SG 2014 - C&Q 4

A few who didn’t want to stay in the packed hall, would gather around Level 3, which created another heavy cluster of human traffic.

To be honest, the human traffic created a lot of problem for me as it wasn’t easy to maneuver pass them, and at times, my path was blocked for reasons unbeknownst to me.

AFA SG 2014 C&Q 15

One simple reason being, due to the nice space and backgrounds that was set up by the organizers, many cosplayers tend to gather around level 3 while many photographers are crowding around them to take nice photos of them.

It’s really good to know that many who does cosplays, are appearing down at the AFA SG event.

AFA SG 2014 - C&Q 5

Queuing up in Singapore is pretty famous, and popular in Singapore. Such as the queues to buy stuff *cough* Hello Kitty *cough*, and getting freebies.

Though at times there are many who aren’t sure of what the queue is for, but would still go and queue up for the sake of queuing.

But what I can give my thumbs up, is that people would queue up nicely and wait in a patient manner, while at the same time hoping to grab hold of what they want to buy.

I was pretty shocked to see a few merchandises sold out within the first few hours, especially the expensive dolls that were, for the first time, that Volks and Culture Japan had brought to Singapore.

AFA SG 2014 - C&Q 6

Another type of queue is where people would like to try out something nice like the Sword Art Online ‘Oculus Rift’ where you can experience what the character, Kirito, feels like when he is in the midst of a boss fight, with his ally, Asuna, helping out.

AFA SG 2014 - C&Q 7

It would seem that there are a few who were very happy after they managed to grab hold of what they want after the long queue.

The limited stock items tend to be sold out fairly quickly, even before I can even blink my Sparkly Eyes.

The good thing, for the less fortunate who are unable to grab those limited stocks, is that many of those booths still offer other Anime stuffs to grab.

AFA SG 2014 - C&Q 8

There is always a ‘1-way only road’ and this photo pretty much nailed the description, since the path is both too crowded and at the same time, there just happened to where it hosts a queue.

Looks like there are many people would like to grab the Anime accessories with their clean hands

AFA SG 2014 - C&Q 9

The final and last famous queue down at Anime Festival Asia Singapore always tend to be the autograph sessions of the special guests and artistes, especially those at the Horipro, StarChild and AFA booths.

Even when I was queuing up for it, I was very amazed at the long queue when I check out the back to peek.

Based on the crowd’s reactions, I would have guessed that angela, LiSA and May’n had a huge number of fans who are gathered at their area, but the other guests also got have a fair number of crowd down.

AFA SG 2014 - C&Q 10

And when they are about to do a little performance for the fans, the crowd would just go high, ranging from many who ‘draws out’ their Light Stick Swords, to photo taking with their handy phones or high-tech cameras.

AFA SG 2014 - C&Q 11

And to a few, there are always those who would dance with the song themselves.

Well, I don’t hate them for taking up so much space, but instead, I’m giving them my thumbs up for being able to dance and move along with the music in front of the masses.

While most other booths are packed with people, the same goes for booths located in the Creators Hub, which contains mostly Doujin Circle, or people who are selling a few cheap and nice anime merchandise.

Daiyaku and C.D.S also did appeared with many nice stuffs, and they did have a moment of ‘sold-out’ too.

Too bad I wasn’t able to grab hold of the cute little bird (=w= ||)

Well, many people choose to crowd around the stage area or booths, whereas, there are a fair portion who sit down to enjoy watching TV.

Or more likely watching people sitting down and singing a few nice Anisong.

Well many of them are trying not to sit down at places in which blocks the route, for the other users, which is the upside, however, there are those who want to enjoy themselves and appreciate that nice moment of watching the TV near the Nissin Cup Noodles booth, that in turn created more congestion in the traffic.

Or, there are those who wish to enjoy a nice cup of Nissin noodles, which even Yuuki and Nagakun, myself enjoyed very much.

I have to admit though, this year around, they (AFA) sure brought in a nice cheaper meal which many really like; I was amazed at the staff, for having to boil massive around of water to meet the demands.

As a whole, for the AFA SG event, we are able to get a lot of turn out pretty much show how many people would like to enjoy themselves at the event that it can create a massive amount of crowds and queues.

Sure makes me wonder if I can survive the Comiket at Japan if I barely manage to survive this amount of crowds and queues…

Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2014 Day 0.5 – Sneak Peeking

What is AFA SG 2014 Day 0.5?!

Previously, I had introduced a Day 0, which is also known as the day before the main event, and WHICH is also the last day to do one last minute preparation. Anime Festival Asia had it’s own Day 0.5 on Thursday, 4th December 2014, where the main stage is open and is screening something very interestingly nice.

And that is the screening of The Assorted Horizons: Theatrical Edition and a special appearance by the leader, Revo!

Yes. Yes. There is no Thursday Ticket available for purchase, as for entry wise, those who bought the Friday Stage Ticket can enjoy the main stage event using the same ticket.

The screening is one of the reason why those who bought their tickets one day before the main event, could head over to the main stage to enjoy a nice screening of the The Assorted Horizons: Theatrical Edition.

I was in there for the earlier part of the show, in which I did enjoyed thoroughly, that is until, I was pestered over the phone for emergency issues. (TwT ||)

Nevertheless, the screening is very entertaining as it wasn’t easy to have a chance to watch the Sound Horizon’s show in Singapore.

Well, another entertaining thing for me that I had noticed is, that there are also a few brave warriors who are cosplaying for AFA Day 0.5 too! (OAO !!)

Well, there is another reason as to why I appeared on the Day 0.5 of AFA Singapore 2014; the Media Press Briefing / Conference.

Yes, they are introducing many interesting things that they will be releasing or showcasing at AFA Singapore 2014, like the PlayStation 4 ’20th Anniversary Edition’ and even guest appearance of my favourite singer, – ‘May’n’!!

I almost got a heart attack when she came in through the door in which I happened to stand very near to. (=o= ||)

During the conference, there was a few highlights, such as the future planning for AFA 2015, a few partnerships and collaborations.

Which also meant that we can expect more from AFA for next year, plus they had invited a few very very important people (VVIP) down for the Media Conference like the President of Aniplex, Mr Koichiro Natsume and the Representative of Sony, Mr Hidetoshi Takigawa.

Even the CEO of Sozo, and the one who’s leading the Anime Festival Asia, Mr Shawn Chin, showed up at the conference venue in person. (owo ||)

Before the unveiling of the ’20th Anniversary Edition’ PlayStation 4, they did and illustrated interesting and simple magic tricks to ‘transform’ the PS 1 all the way up to the PS 4. This acts signified how the Sony PlayStation Game Console evolved thoughout the years.

There were also presentations about how Anime Festival Asia will be working in hand with Anime Japan and Bangkok Comic Con.

ReV-AMF will be covering the media conference in a separate post.

Another interesting thing for the Anime Festival Anime Singapore 2014 is that it has undertaken an incredible upsize compared to last year! It now takes up the entire Level 4 halls of our Suntec Conventional Centre!

Of course, I did a sneak-in, into the exhibition hall to take a few peeks on how the exhibition is being set up.

Well, having a larger space for the exhibition, would also meant that there are more booths and events to cover!

How mistaken I am, to assume that during Days 1, 2 and 3, there would be lesser ‘human traffic’, to prevent me from navigating around the area. In actual fact, it DID gave me an extremely hard time navigating my way around.

On the bright side, it had been shown that many attendees would want to enjoy their time at AFA SG 2014. Thus I’m not surprised that local Singaporeans came for the event, but even fans from other country like Japan, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia, came too.

Another thing that I would like to mention would be, ReV-AMF will be covering most of the events which happened at the AFA 2014, in separate posts, especially a few special booths that caught the attention of my Sparkly Eyes during my walking session.

We will also cover a few nice interviews of the guests that appeared down for AFA Singapore 2014 too, though the booths at AFA exhibition area interest me just as much as well.

If I’ve given in to my temptation, I would love to grab many of those lovely items with my very clean hands.

As of the moment, please kindly wait for the posts to be ready. (>w< ||)
